Tom Handford joins DFM

Daimler Fleet Management has recruited Tom Handford to the newly-created position of van manager.

Tom’s appointment underscores the company’s ambition to achieve growth in its van business. He brings an impressive track record to his new role, which will see him supporting an established team of fleet sales managers, as well as ‘prospecting’ new business and managing key accounts of his own.

Tom joins Daimler Fleet Management (DFM), a division of Mercedes-Benz UK, from Roanza Truck & Van – he worked as a strategic account manager with the North-West Dealer.

‘I’ll be using my extensive product knowledge, as well as my strong experience in the van market, to help DFM customers select the right vehicles. This means ensuring that specifications are tailored to meet their precise requirements, and working closely with conversion, bodybuilding and ancillary equipment specialists to create bespoke vehicles for any application,’ said Tom.

Welcoming the newest member of her team, Daimler Fleet Management general manager Patricia Wolfe commented, ‘Tom’s wealth of experience and knowledge of the commercial sector will help us to offer van operators a truly bespoke and specialist fleet consultation service.’
