Tim Shaw at U-Pol’s stand

Fans of the popular TV programme Car SOS are being given a treat as co-presenter Tim Shaw will be on its stand at the forthcoming Classic Car Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.

The TV star will be taking time out of his schedule to share his usual banter and sign autographs while flanked by two eye-popping classic stars, a 1968 Porsche 911 Short Wheeled Based and a 1965 Ford Mustang 289, both have been rebuilt to concours standards using the array of products produced by U-Pol.

Those who tune into the show will be well aware of how Tim and his partner Fuzz Townsend use U-Pol’s products to help transform dilapidated wrecks into works of automotive art.

Tim said, ‘U-Pol recognised we have been relying on their products and have backed Car SOS by supplying us with whatever we need. Joining the team on their stand during the Classic Car Show is the least I could do.’

The Porsche 911 T SWB has been restored by Ian Wallis of Premier Panel Skills and has taken more than 1,000 man-hours to complete. The Ford Mustang is the result of ‘countless’ hours of hard work by John Dowson, owner of Selby-based JD Body Repairs, and his business partner Stuart Hackett.
