Tesla brings mobile service to UK

Tesla has started rolling out a mobile repair service in the UK.

It has introduced a fleet of mobile repair vehicles with the intention of repairing and maintaining vehicles without the owners having to visit a service centre.

Tesla has converted two Model S cars into mobile workshops with a range of tools, with technicians visiting customers at pre-arranged times at home or work. The company plans to increase the fleet size to 20 in the coming months – with 10 Model S vehicles and 10 vans.

The company says that 90% of faults can be diagnosed over the air before the technician arrives, and plans to introduce further functionality such as a record function on its infotainment system enabling drivers to record any strange noises their car is making and send them to a technician.
