Steve Young confirmed for #BE2018

Steve Young has been confirmed as a speaker at the bodyshop Event & Awards 2018, taking place at Hilton Metropole Birmingham on 27-28 September.

The managing director of ICDP delivered a compelling presentation at this year’s IBIS Global Summit in Germany on the development of the crash repair market for the major European markets. His presentation next month will focus on the UK market.

He said, ‘The roll-out of driver assistance technologies, related sensor and actuator systems, new body materials and construction methods all combine to present an unprecedented amount of change in the crash repair industry in the coming years.

‘ICDP’s projection is that the value of the repair market in the UK will fall by 18% from 2016 to 2030.  The scale of this decline, combined with increased complexity, will put pressure on all players in the sector – how will insurers respond, will franchised dealer networks increase their interest and share, will there be a consolidation amongst independent repairers, how can smaller repairers adapt?’

During the seminar, Steve will try to address these questions based on ICDP’s proprietary research. He will also be available during the day to explain more about ICDP and its industry-funded collaborative research programme.
