Road Safety Trust appoints Sally Lines

The Road Safety Trust announced the appointment of Sally Lines OBE as its new chief executive.

Sally will replace Robert Gifford, who completes his three-year tenure as chief executive on later in May.

Sally comes to the Trust with extensive and varied experience in the charity and social enterprise sector. She initiated and implemented a raft of strategic, operational and governance changes during her four-year term as chief executive of The Grange Centre for People with Disabilities (2013 to 2017). As chief executive of Social Firms UK (2004 to 2011) she provided specialist development expertise to help grow the Social Firm sector and improve the quality and sustainability of the businesses.

She was awarded an OBE in 2012 for her services to equality in the labour market.

Sally said she was relishing the opportunity to bring her energy and experience to the work of the Road Safety Trust. ‘I look forward to working with trustees, executives and stakeholders at all levels to maximise the impact of the Trust’s work and to make a real difference to our society,’ she said. ‘I am also totally committed to the importance of good governance.’
