Peugeot new UK van production

According to Reuters, French carmaker PSA Group has plans to start production of Peugeot and Citroen delivery vans at its new Opel/Vauxhall division’s Luton plant in England, a company source said on Tuesday.

A PSA spokesperson failed to remark on the Luton production plans or on the Bloomberg report that stated the end of the existing van partnership between Opel/Vauxhall and Renault.

Luton currently builds the Opel/Vauxhall Vivaro van model from shared technical foundations with Renault’s Trafic model.

PSA chief executive Carlos Tavares is expected to announce on his visit to the factory Wednesday new van production plans.

As well as new versions of Vivaro, right-hand-drive variants of the Peugeot Expert and Citroen Jumpy models will be built in Luton the company source told Reuters.
