More plaudits for Seat Ibiza

The Seat Ibiza has been named one of the top two cars in the prestigious Car of the Year 2018 awards.

Announced in Geneva Motor Show, a panel of 60 members representing 23 European countries awarded the Ibiza a coveted silver medal. The European Car of the Year award, now in its 55th year, celebrates the most outstanding new cars to hit the market over the last year.

The recognition adds to the Seat Ibiza’s ever-growing trophy cabinet, including Best Supermini at the UK Car of the Year 2018 Awards and Best Small Car at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards this year.

Richard Harrison, managing director of Seat UK, commented, ‘From early on in its development we’ve known the Ibiza had all the ingredients to be a winning car; distinctive Spanish design, excellent driving dynamics and practicality that defies its segment.

‘The Ibiza has exceeded even our lofty expectations, winning the hearts and minds of motorists across Europe. As this latest accolade proves, the Ibiza isn’t just a segment-leader, but is an outstanding option compared to any car on sale.’
