Kevin Fenn retires after 50 years

Kevin Fenn, a Great Yarmouth panel technician, is retiring after 50 years.

Kevin, who is turning 65, began working at Drudge Road Garage in Gorleston at 15-years-old, reshaping the bodywork of damaged cars, where he spent 21 years before moving to Trimoco in 1990.

Over the 28 years, the company was sold on multiple occasions, but Kevin remained throughout all the changes, it is now East Bilney Coachworks.

After 50 years of hard work, Kevin can now reap the benefits of his time working. ‘It’s going to be strange,’ he said. ‘I have mixed emotions now as it has been most of my life. I’ve enjoyed it though.’

Kevin was presented with a golden hammer by branch manager, Chris Browne, on his last day of work. Staff gathered for a photo while Chris shared a parting message and gifted Kevin with a watch.

Chris said, ‘It is a sad day to lose Kev. He is such a fantastic, lovely person, full of skill and knowledge. As I have said to you before, you are welcome back any time. From everyone at East Bilney, thank you.’

Kevin is looking forward to the future and having more time with his family, including three grandchildren.
