Inchcape wins Silver Award

Leading automotive retailer Inchcape UK has won the Silver Award for Best Internal Communications Campaign at the prestigious national IC Brilliance Awards 2018.  The campaign was a charity-led employee engagement initiative which ran throughout last summer.

The IC Brilliance Awards, which took place at The Bentley Hotel in London on Friday 23rd March, champion the role Internal Communications (IC) plays in the success of any organisation. The awards celebrate and showcase the difference the contribution made by internal communications can make to a business.

The winning campaign was devised by Inchcape UK to help embed one of five new performance drivers launched by the business called DRIVE5. One of these behaviours was ‘I collaborate’, which is essential to Inchcape’s culture as a fast paced, customer focused retail business. With almost 6,000 team members working on 11 car brands across more than 100 sites, Inchcape believes working collaboratively with colleagues will make the business even stronger and more successful.

The judges selected the Challenge for a Silver Award in recognition of its tenacious focus on achieving Collaboration in a diverse and innovative way, and also praised the creative twist of using collaboration to help others through charity fundraising.

A total of £3,000 was raised for Macmillan, Inchcape’s charity partner, during this initiative. Inchcape, in total, has raised over £130,000 for Macmillan during its 2-year partnership.

James Brearley, CEO for Inchcape UK, said, ‘We are absolutely delighted to have been presented with this award. Our internal communications team developed this initiative to encourage employee engagement and embed one of our key DRIVE5 behaviours in an innovative way, while at the same time raising funds for our charity partner.  It was a great success and was fantastic to see all our colleagues collaborating!’
