Inchcape Toyota supports Umbrella Derby

Inchcape UK’s Toyota retail centre in Derby has donated £1,800 to help Umbrella Derby buy new equipment and redecorate its sensory room.

Umbrella provides fun, stimulating activities for children and young people with special needs. Its sensory room is extremely popular with the children and young adults and is in need of a makeover and some new equipment.

The £1,800 donation to support the refurbishment was presented to Umbrella as part of the Toyota Fund for a Better Tomorrow; a nation-wide programme of grants which Toyota retail centres can bid for to support charities, schools and community projects in its area.

As well as the donation, team members from the Toyota retail centre at Pride Park, also volunteered their time and helped to redecorate the room, ready for when enough funds are raised to purchase the new equipment.

Ann Rowlands, CEO at Umbrella, said, ‘Many of our children and young people really benefit from the peaceful atmosphere of the sensory room and as the specialist equipment is so expensive we are reliant on donations such as this to help us provide this valuable aspect of our service.’
