Inchcape partners with Alzheimer’s Society

Leading automotive retailer Inchcape UK has appointed Alzheimer’s Society as its new charity partner and has set its fundraising target at £50k in the first year.

In a staff vote, Inchcape colleagues selected Alzheimer’s Society as the clear winner to become the retailer’s next charity partner. The Society will now benefit from fundraising by colleagues across Inchcape’s 100 plus UK-wide retail sites.

James Brearley, CEO of Inchcape UK, said, ‘Our colleagues are always enthusiastic when it comes to supporting our chosen charity. They come up with their own imaginative fundraising ideas as well as wholeheartedly engaging in any national challenges we set them. We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Alzheimer’s Society and look forward to raising money to support people who are living with dementia.’

Alzheimer’s Society currently supports over 40,000 people affected by dementia. It is also the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause and prevention. It has committed to spending £150 million on cutting edge research over the next decade.

Inchcape UK’s national fundraising challenges in aid of Alzheimer’s Society will begin with the return of the Great Inch ‘Cake’ Bake Off in April. Each of Inchcape’s retail sites will be asked to put on their aprons and test their baking skills by producing show-stopping cakes to sell to customers and colleagues. Two more national fundraising activities will follow throughout the year and individual sites will also plan their own fundraising events. Inchcape colleagues can also be given a paid volunteer day each year to support the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of their choice.
