IBIS ME set to Dubai

IBIS ME returns to Dubai on 21 February, when industry leaders and influencers from around the region and beyond will gather at the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre.

The fifth staging of what is now an established event on the calendar for the automotive aftersales market in the area, IBIS ME 2018 – which is only possible with the support of our partners and sponsors AkzoNobel, Audatex, Spanesi, and Symach – promises to deliver presentations and sessions from a broad range of speakers, covering the issues that impact the industry now and in the future.

Following the IBIS mission statement of improving Safety, Skills and Standards, IBIS ME also provides fantastic networking opportunities for delegates keen to foster new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.

Last year’s conference aimed to highlight ‘Safety through Synergy’. Safety is again a recurring theme this year with the opening session examining road safety standards in the UAE. A number of positive initiatives have dramatically reduced traffic accident rates; this session will highlight how falling rates will influence collision repair business. Following that, GIPA Group, which provides automotive aftermarket data in more than 30 countries, will take a look at the global and regional automotive market trends and how the region’s collision repair business is changing in profile.

The day will also include an insightful panel debate including representatives from the worlds of insurance, manufacturing and repair, while Hana Mohamed Al Kho Khardi, acting head of internal conformity affairs for Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), will discuss the forthcoming introduction of the workshop standards and grading system and what it will mean to bodyshops and associated stakeholders in the UAE. In addition, in this informative session we will hear about ESMA activities across a number of automotive aftermarket with regards to regulating the spare parts market and import of vehicles.

After a networking lunch, IBIS ME delegates will benefit from a presentation on motor claims and how technology can streamline the process, before internationally respected consultant Caroline Newns will deliver her session, Managing for the Future, which talks directly to company heads about how to overcome the challenges to maintaining profit margins, increasing staff motivation and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.

While skills of the employees is under the microscope, skills of the employers is less talked about and Caroline will look at how managers can develop their skills in specific areas to ensure they are ready to meet these constant market changes and challenges.

The final session of the day will be the opportunity for all stakeholders to consider the key highlights and points from the day and discuss in this open forum with the panel of the days speakers how we can collectively move forward and develop the regional market collaboratively.

As ever, IBIS sets out to bring the industry together and to encourage honest communication and knowledge sharing. The automotive sector is evolving weekly and only by working together can we continue to offer our customers outstanding service and ensure their vehicles are repaired and returned safely and correctly.
