CAPS plans GDPR support

CAPS is continuing to support its 800+ members by initiating a series of regional conferences aimed at GDPR readiness.

A number of high profile presenters have already been secured to present at these GDPR events, with dates set for 11 (near Coventry) and 25 (Manchester) April and 2 May (Windsor).

The events plan to educate and provide awareness to all on how GDPR preparations are being made throughout the supply chain. The format for the day intends to deliver knowledge from across the industry, on how companies plan to deliver service, exchange data whilst continuing to repair vehicles in a GDPR compliant environment.

Kevern Thompson, CAPS commercial manager said, ‘Upcoming GDPR regulation is creating a groundswell of confusion and driving upward cost. At this pivotal time within the motor industry and a chance to further demonstrate our support to the CAPS Community, we wish to continue the education and training to support awareness and responsibilities towards others when sharing-exchanging data. Our aim remains the same, we want to ensure CAPS connected bodyshops receive the most secure, trusted and cost-effective service.’

Online training delivery in support of GDPR Readiness, is another way in which CAPS will offer support. Initial beginnings of a partnership with Peritus Learning to utilise their online portal are being finalised, with the training being accessible via the CAPS website.

The events are free to attend for CAPS bodyshops and open to all other industry interested parties at the discounted day rate for the venue.
