Anchor Vans joins Ironman Bolton

Anchor Vans has announced that managing director, Simon Joyce, will be participating in Ironman UK in Bolton being held on 15 July 2018.

Now in its 40th year, Ironman is recognised as one of the toughest events for athletes. An Ironman distance event consists of a 2.4-mile swim, 112 mile cycle ride and a 26 mile run, taking place globally, each event attracts thousands of participants.

Simon Joyce commented, ‘I’ve raised almost £6,000 for charity through my races so far, and hope that Ironman UK in Bolton will encourage even more gifting to good causes. I do encourage my team at Anchor Vans to participate in a variety of sporting events and in May we’ll be fielding a team at Tough Mudder in support of the Rosemary Appeal. This is the second year Anchor Vans have participated in Tough Mudder and it promotes employee team building whilst encouraging health and fitness amongst employees’.

The Bolton based event begins with a lake swim at Pennington Flash, moving on to a two-loop cycle course which incorporates the Sheep House Lane climb. Finally, the marathon distance run begins at Queens Park in Bolton where athletes head into the town centre and back through the park for four loops before completing the course in Victoria Square.
