3M webinar covering RPE testing

Bodyshop professionals are being invited to learn more about respiratory fit testing by registering for the next webinar in 3M’s Science of Safety series.

The free webinar, titled ‘Respiratory Fit Testing in the UK and Ireland’, will run from 11.00am to 12.00 noon on 21 May 2018.

It will be led by 3M European technical specialist Stewart Ayrey, an experienced Fit2Fit-accredited fit tester.

Stewart will explain the essential aspects of fit testing respiratory protective equipment (RPE), providing hints and tips throughout the interactive session.

He will cover when and why fit testing is needed; the fit testing methods available, both quantitative and qualitative; tester competence; fit testing frequency; and the effects of facial hair on RPE fitting.

Stewart said, ‘The Health and Safety Executive requires all workers who wear tight-fitting RPE to be fit tested, so this is a key topic for bodyshop owners, health and safety managers and individual employees alike.

‘Managing a respiratory fit testing programme can seem daunting and fraught with challenges, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. This webinar will give participants the information they need to implement an effective RPE fit testing programme with ease.’
