Thorite goes racing

Thorite is sponsoring a family backed motor racing team in the Toyo Tires Racing Saloons series and the CTCRC Pre2005 Touring Cars series.

Thorite, suppliers of air compressors, air tools, pneumatics and process products, are backing GMP Developments’ team manager and Thorite’s national contracts manager, Gary Parke throughout this year’s race calendar.

For the 2017 season, Gary is preparing a Renault Clio which will be ready for testing in early June. Gary will be competing in eight rounds, Scott (his brother) four rounds and Paul (his dad) four rounds.

Gary said, ‘2017 is a development year for us ahead of a full championship challenge in both championships in 2018. The fact that Thorite has chosen to sponsor us definitely helps to keep the cars on the track.’

Gary has been racing for 16 years and has won numerous races and championships and in 2015 and 2016, he won the Classic Touring Car Pre2005 Championship Class A, in a Peugeot 206 GTI180.

The team’s next outing is on 13 May at Cadwell Park.
