Technician Awards go live

The bodyshop/GT Motive Estimate Technician Awards 2017 are now open to entries.

The awards aim to recognise the high levels of panel and paint technician talent within the UK collision repair sector and, ultimately, crown the best of the best at the bodyshop Event and Awards 2017.

Entrants are required to complete an online test in their respective category – the deadline for entries being Friday 28 July. After this date, the top six scorers in each category will then be invited to a practical examination at the ITAS Academy in Milton Keynes on Friday 11 August. The top performers in each category will then be invited to the bodyshop Event and Awards on 28-29 September where the winners will be named.

Phil Briggs, operations director of Technician Awards sponsor, GT Motive Estimate, said ‘At GT Motive Estimate we are dedicated to supporting bodyshops and championing a right-first-time approach to estimating and vehicle repair. We are delighted to sponsor the Paint Technician and Panel Technician of the Year Awards for 2017 and to play our part in recognising and rewarding the most skilled technicians in our industry.’

bodyshop editor, Mark Hadaway added, ‘It’s great to have GT Motive Estimate and ITAS supporting these very important skills awards. At a time when everyone within this industry, the world over, is talking about skills – it’s vital these individuals are given the profile they deserve.’
