NTDA launches new manifesto

The National Tyre Distributors’ Association (NTDA) has launched its manifesto for raising standards and improving safety in the UK tyre industry.

The NTDA’s manifesto tackles the key issues facing manufacturers, distributors, motorists and other important stakeholders and outlines a clear plan of action for the NTDA and its members.

Built upon independent research and consultation across the industry, a major focus is placed on the safety problems the illegal part worn tyre market presents to motorists and industry and how stakeholders can tackle the issue in a collaborative manner. The manifesto also examines motorists’ attitude to tyre safety, NTDA members’ attitude to part-worn tyres, the changing tyre marketplace and issues such as buying tyres on the internet, enhancing the skills and qualifications of tyre technicians, how to make tyre outlets more welcoming and encouraging apprenticeships.

‘In such a dynamic industry and with issues such as Brexit at the forefront of our minds, I am pleased to launch this manifesto to our members and the wider industry,’ said Stefan Hay, NTDA chief executive, speaking at the Tyre Industry Conference. ‘We are listening, and with help from our members and other industry bodies, this manifesto outlines our plans and priorities for the coming years to improve tyre safety for everyone.’
