Nationwide strengthens exec team

Nationwide has made two key announcements this week, with Louise Cope heading up the company’s People Support Services and Victoria Turner appointed as head of strategic business development.

Louise joined the Nationwide team as an executive member in July and brings with her a wealth of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations and Engagement. Louise is Fellow Member of the CIPD, the professional awarding body for HR and people development.

Since her appointment, Nationwide has seen a step change in recruitment, internal communications, people development and employee engagement.

She said, ‘I have had a fantastic start to my journey with Nationwide and feel very passionate about the business and our future. What makes this opportunity so appealing is the appetite for change. Leading industry transformation is an amazing opportunity that I will relish.

‘I have begun to get the core foundations of the People Support Service Team in place and I am very excited about the future. We have introduced a strong employer brand and employer value proposition, business partner led HR model, enhanced internal communications which are supported by our new organisation development team and technical training and professional development academy.’

Meanwhile, Victoria said, ‘The inspiring growth I’ve seen in Nationwide to date has created a force that is primed to lead the repair industry. Utilising the expertise, scale and capability we have today, we are perfectly placed to provide customers across our industry with a solution that consistently delivers a great vehicle repair solution across the whole of the UK.

‘In a continuously demanding, rapidly changing and fast developing market, our task is to provide a proposition that is agile enough to not only deliver, but to do it consistently for years to come. Nationwide is in the enviable position of having acquired all of the necessary parts to deliver the best market leading solution. This is what makes now, a great time to join.’

Michael Wilmshurst CEO, said, ‘Victoria has significant experience in the sector and she has a clear understanding of our business and the dynamics of the industry as well as the unique nature of our proposition.

‘This is a very exciting time for Nationwide and the ideal time to strengthen their leadership team. Nationwide virtually doubled the size of the business and offer in the last two years and have significant, further expansion underway including traditional sites, Mobile Fleet, Rapid Repair and HiTech initiatives.’
