Nationwide names 2017 charity partner

Nationwide has announced that its corporate charity partnership for 2017 will be UK Air Ambulances.

It will be fundraising for the 21 Local Air Ambulances Services across the country, who are members of the Association of Air Ambulances Charity.

Michael Wilmshurst, CEO of Nationwide, said, ‘We often see stories about the lifesaving and life changing service of the Air Ambulance Service. We hope that Nationwide’s support will make a difference so the life-enhancing and lifesaving work they carry out on a daily basis can continue. As we have seen in previous years Nationwiders really do get behind our charity partnerships and go that extra mile fundraising for great causes.

‘I am confident the team will again rise to the challenge to support such a fantastic cause and I look forward to hearing about the great fundraising activities that will be taking place by our teams up and down the country.’

Liz Campbell, chair of the Association of Air Ambulances (Charity), added, ‘Trauma and medical emergencies can happen to anyone and although these can’t be prevented, we can ensure that the very best care is provided to those who need it as quickly as possible, via air ambulance.

‘The support from our partnership with Nationwide means that sustainable funds will be available to maintain this core lifesaving service, benefiting the lives of patients throughout the UK. We look forward to working with the Nationwide Team in their fundraising activities.’
