Nationwide and RSA extend partnership

Nationwide Accident Repair Services’ acquisition of the six RSA quality repair centres should be finalised on 1 March.

RSA said, ‘We have agreed the sale of our six vehicle repair centres to Nationwide Crash Repair Centres. The sale is part of the ongoing transformation of RSA in the UK to ensure that we are focused on businesses where we can have a market leading position, delivering value and excellent service to our customers and broker partners. After a careful review, in an area of business which is fast becoming ever more technically complex, we concluded that our customers would be best served by the UK’s leading car repair specialist.’

RSA’s repair business was established in 2000 and consists of centres in Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, Luton and Stockport.

The deal should see Nationwide, the UK’s largest accident repair group, add to its capacity by up to 30,000 jobs per year.

Nationwide and RSA have a long-standing relationship and this deal is expected to enhance key to key times by matching capacity with demand more efficiently.

Bill Paton, UK and international claims director of RSA, said, ‘We have a very long standing and successful relationship with Nationwide and in a sector that is clearly changing and requires a different approach it is logical to extend this partnership further, working increasingly closer as the market develops.’
