MG Cannon announce latest acquisition

2017 is looking like its fast becoming another momentous year for MG Cannon accident repair centres, as the company pushes ahead with the next stage of its ambitious growth plans.

Today Robert Snook, group director, announced the company’s latest acquisition, the Platinum Accident Repair Centre in Frome. This announcement is the latest in a series of acquisitions that MG Cannon has announced over the last ten months to expand the company’s network of sites and support future growth across the south west.   This will leave the company in a secure position and well placed to repair vehicles in Somerset, Wiltshire, Avon, Bath, Bristol, Hampshire, Dorset, Devon and East Cornwall.

The Platinum Accident Repair Centre (Frome) will close and all bodyshop staff, approvals (Vauxhall, Toyota, Nissan, Skoda, Renault, Dacia and Hyundai) and work will transfer to the MG Cannon Westbury site.

MG Cannon Westbury is a 16,000-sq. ft. purpose built accident repair centre with the latest specialised workshop equipment including riveting, aluminium and welding to provide the latest vehicle technology, situated on a spacious two-acre site with extensive secure parking.

Robert adds ‘We’re very happy to announce that all staff from the Platinum Accident Repair Centre will transfer to our Westbury site. We will take care to ensure our new employees feel comfortable and welcome.’

‘The Platinum Motor Group is a good cultural fit for us, as a well-established family owned business with high standards and a reputation as one of the leading players in the southwest. Acquiring their Frome Accident Repair Centre and team of experienced and highly-skilled technicians and VDA staff will add and enrich our already skilled workforce.’

Jeremy Cuff, joint managing director, said, ‘The MG Cannon Group are clearly skilled operators of high quality bodyshops. We believe that they will ensure a good employment environment for our Frome bodyshop team members, and a high quality and reliable bodyshop partner with whom the Platinum Group can work with ongoing.’
