IFB membership still rising

Mulsanne Insurance and broker Premium Choice have become the latest members of the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB).

They follow the addition of 10 new affiliate members in April, and Carrot Insurance joining in January.

Director Ben Fletcher said, ‘The insurance industry’s collaborative efforts to fight fraud, including its central data and intelligence sharing through the IFB, is the envy of many other sectors. The addition of new members strengthens the industry’s position against the fraudsters that attack us every day.

‘As an insurer member, the addition of Mulsanne’s data to the IFB’s sophisticated analytics software, will further enhance our capability to proactively identify fraud networks. As a broker, Premium Choice hold that first point of contact with consumers, and are therefore a vital component in the industry’s first line of defence.’

Meanwhile, Paul Twilley, claims director for Mulsanne Insurance, said, ‘Mulsanne Insurance is dedicated to the fight against insurance fraud and is committed to playing an active role by participating in the industry’s concerted efforts in disrupting organised fraud. Joining the IFB signifies a forward step in our counter fraud strategy. The use of IFB data will run in parallel to our existing robust fraud defences and we look forward to working in partnership with the IFB.’

Richard Dornan, managing director of Premium Choice, added, ‘We are delighted to become a member of the IFB and the chance to contribute to the intelligence framework the IFB manages. For us being an active member brings us into a new world of belonging to an information sharing platform with all major insurers committed to detecting and preventing fraud.’
