Hella Sonne increasing range

Hella Sonne is celebrating a successful first year in the UK collision repair industry by increasing both product and personnel.

Its portfolio already includes solid, metallic, pearl and xirallic toners, plus the Sonne Hidrosonne Evo range of VOC compliant water-based paints offering a palette in excess of 70,000 colours. It is fully supported by Sonne ancillaries, including 420 high solid and ‘anti-scratch’ clearcoat products, plus a ‘shades of grey’ primer system, with both high build surfaces and wet-on-wet capabilities.

There is also a range of hardeners and thinners to suit the temperature differences often seen in the UK, thus improving performance.

Furthermore, Sonne has recently introduced an accelerated thinner into the range, so bodyshops will benefit from the 420 clearcoat curing in only 10 minutes at 60Deg C and an easy to polish solution with excellent gloss retention. The thinner also reduces energy costs, cuts product usage and increases productivity, due to the time saving properties it brings to the entire process.

Sonne is further extending its range with a new fast drying ‘anti-scratch’ clearcoat and fade out thinner, together with new sizes for existing ancillary products.

Paul Tredgold, head of paint division at Sonne, said, ‘It’s been a really incredible journey so far for Sonne, which has been extremely well received by the industry, because it ticks all the boxes in the free to choose sector. The quality of the product is first rate and there is an immense strength in the brand behind it.

‘We’ve built a great network of distributors and bodyshops and our team is continuing to grow as more business has come on board. Our portfolio is also increasing, with some exciting new products being launched throughout the rest of this year.

‘Overall, I think the first year of Sonne has been a tremendous success and surpassed all our expectations and I know it’ll continue this way, not only because of the product and company, but the way the market has responded to it and the clear need that it fulfils for the bodyshop.’
