Graduate day for Fix Auto apprentice

Two years after first walking into the Fix Auto Deepcut repair centre and boldly asking for a job, Scott Packer has successfully completed his apprenticeship.

The 21-year-old has been awarded top marks in his recent IMI Level Two assessment after studying at Farnborough College of Technology. Scott received his certificate from Training Co-ordinator Derek Jackson, who was making his final presentation before retiring.

Steve Knight, owner of Fix Auto Deepcut in Bridge Road, Deepcut said, ‘Scott has done himself and the business proud. The lad confidently walked in one day and asked me for a job. He had no previous experience but promised he would be dedicated and hardworking – he has been true to his word.

‘I take my hat off to him, he seized his opportunity and now, thanks to the training he has received, is a fully qualified member of the team.’

On presenting his final certificate after 20 years as one of the region’s leading apprenticeship trainers and assessors, Scott added, ‘What a fitting way to end my career. Scott is testament to what we have always strived to achieve. Here we have a young guy who took it upon himself to find a career he liked, he has worked hard and has successfully completed his apprenticeship. I can’t congratulate Scott enough and would like to thank all at Fix Auto Deepcut for all the help and guidance that they have provided him, and all the apprentices they’ve trained over the years.’
