Goole power adds to Fix Auto strength

Fix Auto UK has increased its presence on the east coast of England, with AK Bodyshop Ltd joining the network as Fix Auto Goole.

The bodyshop is owned and managed by husband and wife team Andy and Lisa Kirk, who started their business by repairing end-of-lease cars for sale at auction before moving into mainstream accident repair when they relocated to a 4,000 sqft bodyshop.

Their current operation is a five-bay bodyshop, complete with two spraybooths, which allows them to achieve a throughput of 60 vehicles per month. However, using their wealth of experience of repairing lightly damaged vehicles, the couple are also planning to develop an additional on-site Fix & Go express repair facility, to enable them to triage effectively and to grow repair capacity.

Andy said, ‘We have built the business up from nothing and we are extremely proud of our achievements so far. But Lisa and I recognise we need to be part of a network if we are going to continue to build and develop the business so that we can call upon fellow repairers and industry experts for help and guidance.’

He added, ‘We recently attended our first Fix Auto regional meeting and were overwhelmed by the welcome we received from the fellow franchisees. The moment we sat down we both immediately knew joining Fix Auto was going to be invaluable to us. While we have a thirst to learn from other more established businesses, we also have a lot of experience in express repair of light damage which we are keen to share. For us, it’s a win/win but, more importantly, we know that we are not alone anymore.’

Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK said, ‘What Andy and Lisa have achieved in such a short space of time is really exciting.  In Fix Auto Goole we have a new franchisee who is keen to grow and eager to learn from others, but who also brings a wealth of experience in express repairs that can be shared with the rest of the network, which demonstrates the true ethos of our Fix Auto community.’
