Fix sponsored driver tops SuperCup

Fix Auto UK-sponsored driver Jac Constable has extended his lead at the top of the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup Am Class Championship to 73 points after three successful races at Rockingham raceway.

The Hampshire-based teenager recorded two wins and a third-place finish over the bank holiday break, enabling him to pull clear of his closest rival, Colin White, and lead the Championship with 514 points with just two rounds to go.

Due to events beyond his control, a 10-second penalty placed him third on the podium in the first race held on Saturday, even though Jac led the Am class from start to finish. That ruling brought an end to a seven-race winning streak.  Undeterred, the Fix Auto-backed racer bounced back in the best way possible by winning an incident-packed second race on Sunday morning, before romping to victory in the third and final event, giving him 12 class wins in his debut season.

Jac said, ‘I couldn’t believe the outcome of the first race. I led from start to finish and, through no fault of my own, I was penalised which meant I had to settle for third place. While I wasn’t happy, that’s racing and you just have to get on with it and I showed that in the second and third races.’

Jac will aim to extend his championship lead at the next event which takes place at Silverstone race track on 16/17 September.
