Covéa adds cyber to HNW cover

Covéa Insurance has become one of the first UK insurers to offer cyber cover as standard for its high net worth (HNW) customers.

From November, brokers will be able access the insurer’s refreshed Executive Plus product and take advantage of automatic Home Cyber cover up to £100,000, as well as a range of increased limits and covers and new policy documents redesigned using the principles of behavioural economics to make them simpler for customers.

The Executive Plus product’s standout Home Cyber feature will provide cover for connected home devices, losses associated with cyber-crime and identity theft, cyber liability and cyber bullying all supported by a panel of experts from forensic accountants to cyber adjusters.

Alison Colver, national HNW underwriting manager commented, ‘HNW customers are early adopters of connected technologies, and with their vast financial resources, are fast becoming a target for cyber criminals seeking to take advantage of connected gadgets.

‘Our brokers have told us that cyber is a key concern amongst their customers and we have developed a product in response that is designed to fully meet these emerging challenges.’
