Available Car broadens its Remit

Available Car has joined forces with national training provider, Remit Group, to deliver its UK wide apprenticeship scheme.

Remit will begin work with 17 apprentices – light vehicle technicians, panel and paint technicians – through the scheme, a programme which is expected to continue to grow over the coming months and years. All technical apprentices working on the scheme will now benefit from Remit’s brand new national Automotive Academy, launched this September in Derby.

Russell Needham, group preparation manager at Available Car said, ‘We’ve always valued the contribution apprentices make to our business. It’s not just an opportunity for an individual to gain employment, training and career prospects, it’s also a chance for us develop our workforce.

‘Bringing a young person into the business and training them from scratch, allows us to develop a member of the team with the necessary qualifications and skills, while also meeting the Available Car standards. And it doesn’t end there for our apprentices. We’re committed to developing our employees into managers of the future, and this development starts from day one.’

Remit will now be assisting with the training of Available Car’s future apprentices, ensuring they get the best support as they go through their training programmes, as well as working in partnership with Available Car to exceed the expectations of an apprenticeship, reaching their own tailored standards.

Christine Peddie, automotive business unit director at Remit, said, ‘We’re delighted to be working with Available Car on its latest apprenticeship programme. We have over 20 years’ experience working in the automotive sector and we’re dedicated to making sure the training and qualifications our apprentices achieve not only work for the individual, but their employer and the industry as a whole.’
