Autonomous vehicles centre stage at ITS

The driverless future will be on display at the UK Pavilion during this month’s Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) World Congress in Montreal (October 29 to November 2).
The Pavilion will showcase the UK’s leading role in the field of connected and autonomous vehicles, featuring vehicle demos and experts from key British CAV organizations. The annual ITS World Congress brings together global leaders in intelligent and transformative transportation to address the future challenges facing mobile and connected societies.
Transport Systems Catapult, CEO Paul Campion, said, ‘The ITS World Congress is an opportunity for the UK to demonstrate the excellent opportunities we have on offer for those interested in intelligent transport systems. We are currently sitting on the cusp of a transport revolution driven by autonomous technologies, Big Data and changing consumer expectations. The UK has a leading academic system, SME network and innovative industrial base which is already producing countless innovations in these areas. Support from the Department for International Trade can help other nations to do the same.’

At the ITS World Congress we are keen to demonstrate that the UK is one of the best places in the world to come and develop this technology.’
