Apprenticeship evening a triumph at Gemini

Gemini Worcester hosted a very successful apprenticeship evening last night when a host of young people from the area between the ages of 13 and 18 were given a valuable insight into the automotive industry.

Held in conjunction with the AutoRaise charity, the evening included a short introduction to the sector by Gemini managing director Dave Sargeant as well as live demonstrations of some of the advanced tooling and repair processes used in the industry.

Dave Sargeant, managing director said, ‘I went to the original event in Rye Street and couldn’t wait to put on our own event. The suppliers and distributors and customers have been fantastic in helping us achieve this and we’ve had a great turnout. Many of us have come through the apprenticeship route and we’re very proud of our industry, but it’s time to get some new blood in. Hopefully events like this will do that.’

Bob Linwood, CEO of AutoRaise, said, ‘This has been proved as a very successful way to show our industry to young people. Dave and his team has done a fantastic job of putting on this event.’

The event was supported by Audatex, Axalta, Car-O-Liner, Eco Repair Systems, Emtec Colleges Ltd, Ezi Methods, Indasa, LKQ Coatings, LV=, Morelli, Pro Align, RMI, Sandicliffe Motor Contracts and Sheila’s Wheels.
