Volvo issues vehicle recall

Volvo is recalling 59,000 cars because of a technical fault which could momentarily turn off the engine.

The company says many motorists wouldn’t even notice it as the engine restarts again immediately, and no accidents have been caused by this software glitch.

However, it is still recalling five 2016 diesel models which are affected by the issue – the S60, V60, XC60, V70 and XC70 – and says it has identified the glitch and is already writing to owners to inform them to contact their local dealerships.

Of the 59,000 units being recalled, half are in Sweden with 7,000 in the UK market.
