Vauxhall celebrates award-treble

Vauxhall has picked up a handful of awards at the inaugural Car Tech Awards.

Its all-new Astra has been recognised for its outstanding range of advanced technology features, collecting the Tech Car of the Year, Best Self-Parking System and Best Safety Innovation for Vauxhall OnStar.

All awards were in the under £25,000 class, where the Vauxhall Astra was also highly commended in the Best Sat-Nav category.

Rory Harvey, Vauxhall’s chairman and managing director, said, ‘The Astra has performed strongly this year, and now it has proven itself to be a top contender in terms of technology, safety and connectivity.’

The awards were held in conjunction with Carbuyer and Alphr.

Stuart Milne, editor of Carbuyer, said, ‘We were hugely impressed by the range of technology the Astra offers, its ease of operation and the depth of its ability. The Astra – and its tech – is priced so affordably, making it all the more impressive.’
