Used buyers back dealers

Used car buyers continue to put their faith in dealerships, according to new data from AA Cars, which shows a 40% surge in enquiries to AA Cars dealers.

This news follows the launch of the AA’s Vehicle Inspections for dealers in February, with inspected cars automatically being listed on AA Cars. In March alone, the used car portal received 97,004 enquiries – the highest recorded to date.

In Q1 2016, 278,590 enquiries were made to dealerships listed on the AA Cars portal, marking a significant increase when compared to the same period in 2015.

Paul Yates, managing director of AA Cars, commented, ‘The internet might have revolutionised the process of buying a used car, but the basic principle of trust between dealer and customer remains key.

‘The AA is one of the most trusted brands in Britain, and our latest figures are a testament to that as we’ve continued to introduce more AA services to our marketplace.

‘Over the last 12 months, we’ve worked hard to develop AA Cars from its status as a trusted place to buy and sell used cars into a complete value proposition that allows our dealers to advertise and trade with confidence.’
