TrustFord achieves charity record

TrustFord raised over £100,000 for its official charity partners, Cancer Research UK, and BEN (Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund) in 2015, the largest amount the business has ever achieved in one year.

The funds were raised through a variety of local and national initiatives, ranging from charity football matches and cake bake sales, all the way up to hosting a Penny Auction in partnership with Peter Andre. The event, which gave customers the chance to bid on a range of new and used cars from as little as 1p, featured a new Ford Fiesta with an exterior decorated by Peter, and helped raise over £20,000.

The record figure was announced at TrustFord’s annual Excellence Awards event, which each year celebrates the achievements of individuals and teams from across the group who demonstrate a commitment to customers and their communities. During the event, TrustFord chairman and CEO, Steve Hood, was joined by TV personality Denise Van Outen in presenting cheques – each worth over £50,000 – to Carol Pezella of Cancer Research UK, and David Main of BEN.

Speaking from the event, Steve commented, ‘Everyone at TrustFord is hugely proud to be able to support Cancer Research UK and BEN in the incredible work they do.’
