Solus opens new CV centre

Solus Accident Repair Centres, the nationwide network of accident repair centres owned and operated by Aviva, is opening a new accident repair centre in Erith, south-east London.

The new site will be solely dedicated to repairing light commercial vehicles and has created 11 new jobs.

The Solus Erith site is specially equipped to handle light commercial vehicles. It will also feature what it claims as ‘innovative ways of working’, such as using pre-assessment and pre-painting of parts, which Solus expects will reduce repair times by more than 50%.

Other Solus sites should also benefit from the new commercial vehicle repair centre. As the Erith site will repair commercial vehicles from across London and the south-east, it is expected that repair turnaround times will improve as their workload eases.

The new site brings the total number of Solus sites to 18 across the UK, and is the only Solus site dedicated to repairing commercial vehicles.

Theo Theodosiou, technical director at Solus, said, ‘Solus repairs more than 1,000 vans a year from the London area; our new site was created to support the special technical and service demands required for our business customers.

‘The Erith site is built around the specific needs of our commercial customers for whom their vehicles are a vital part of their business. We have recruited 11 technical experts who understand the specific needs of our business customers, and we will provide ongoing training to continue to develop their technical and customer service skills.

‘We believe this is the only site in the country dedicated solely to repairing light commercial vehicles.’
