RoadSafe welcomes new chairman

Arun Srinivasan has been named chairman of RoadSafe, succeeding Tony Spalding.

On taking up the appointment, the managing director of Bosch Mobility Solutions UK, said, ‘Car manufacturers have made massive strides in improving the safety of cars and commercial vehicles available to the UK market in recent years. Collectively, the road safety community has made UK roads amongst the safest in the world. Now we are on the eve of many more technological advances, which will make our roads safer still with autonomous vehicles in particular. I am pleased to be able to guide RoadSafe through this exciting future.’

Tony, a former executive director of GM Europe, is stepping down after 15 years in the role. He said, ‘Arun has the first-hand knowledge and experience of the exciting changes that are already coming to the industry. I know RoadSafe will benefit from this and continue to make a valuable contribution to road safety in the UK and overseas”.

His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent GCVO, patron of RoadSafe, added, ‘I would like to pay tribute to Tony Spalding’s leadership and thank him for his hard work and dedication over the years as chairman of RoadSafe and my own International Road Safety Awards. I am delighted that Arun Srinivasan is able to commit his time and energy to this role as we continue to encourage and support innovation to make our roads even safer.’
