Raising the bar

AutoRaise, the vehicle repair industry’s own charity, is calling for businesses to focus on how they can contribute to making the collision repair industry a sustainable and valued career destination.

Originally set-up as working group to develop an apprenticeship standard, AutoRaise has now evolved to become a charitable organisation taking the lead in promoting the accident repair industry as a career destination of choice.

The charity is active on a number of levels, holding discussions with stakeholders from all areas within the industry and gaining a full understanding of the full scale of the problem.

‘The sector has done almost nothing for too many years to address the issue and now it’s at crisis point,’ said Bob Linwood of AutoRaise. ‘AutoRaise are clearly and very publicly trying to do something about it and it can’t come a moment too soon.

‘The industry needs to promote itself to people who are looking for a career and we have started that process of helping employers achieve this. Having already held our first and incredibly successful Industry Showcase Event at Rye Street Group, we are now making plans for several more and are actively looking for more repairer hosts to keep the momentum going.’

Bob continued, ‘We are a transparent, charitable, not-for-profit organisation that has one aim – to make the industry a better place. That gives us total license to be innovative and creative about finding solutions.’

AutoRaise is actively seeking engagement with any businesses or people in the industry who wish to contribute to its goal of positive change. To contact AutoRaise click here.
