RAC extends TWG contract

A new five-year agreement has been made between the RAC and The Warranty Group (TWG), which will see TWG continue to operate the RAC brand in the automotive sector until at least January 2021.

The deal covers a range of established RAC-branded products as well as the RAC BuySure initiative, which is operated by the RAC and TWG in partnership and grew by 126% last year.

RAC head of dealer propositions, Mario Dolcezza said, ‘We are very pleased to have signed this extension, which is a strong sign of the ongoing commitment that exists between our two organisations.

‘Since 2008, we have forged a very strong relationship with TWG. Their expertise and drive has been a key factor in our continuing level of expansion into the automotive sector, with the RAC becoming a major force in the market among independent used car dealers, car supermarkets, franchised dealer groups.’

Ian Simpson, European managing director for automotive at TWG, added, ‘As custodians of the RAC brand in the automotive sector, we have worked hard to meet the standards expected of the name, both in terms of delivering the right products for customers and showing dealers the many advantages of working with ourselves and the RAC.

‘Importantly, we have delivered when it comes to providing dealers with programmes that produce real financial results, improve footfall, increase differentiation and offer help in key areas such as training, administration, sales processes and incentives.’
