Painting competition is a stroke of genius

BASF’s premium paint brand for the automotive refinish industry is searching for the UK’s best young painters to compete for national and international recognition.
The R-M Best Painter Contest takes place over 18 countries across Europe, South Africa, Asia and North America.
UK candidates will be shortlisted to attend the National UK final on 7 June at ITAS Training Centre, with the finalist then representing the UK in the International Final, which will be held at the R-M Refinish Competence Centre in Clermont, near Paris, from 26-30 September.
The main theme for the R-M competition is innovative thinking with state-of-the-art technologies and sustainable solutions, using R-M’s ONYX HD waterborne paint line.
Every competitor will be expected to prove their skills in the use of ONYX HD waterborne technology and to employ the best available R-M technology to maximise productivity as well ensure the lowest possible environmental impact.
The judging panel will be monitoring every stage of the competition, looking at the implementation of efficient and environmentally-friendly processes, fast and efficient application techniques, accurate colour matching, blending, and spot repair.
