Outlander breaks 100,000 barrier

The UK is rapidly becoming the leading market in the world for Mitsubishi plug-ins. More than 21,000 units were sold in the UK in the last financial year compared to 44,477 in the rest of Europe combined.

Japan remains the largest market with 33,730 unit sales, but the UK now accounts for more than 20% of the global market for Mitsubishi’s Outlander PHEV and that could increase in the future as one in every two cars now sold by Mitsubishi in the UK is a plug-in.

Meanwhile, UK sales contributed significantly to the Outlander plug-in electric vehicle breaking the 100,000 sales barrier.

Lance Bradley, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors UK, said, ‘To reach this milestone is a fantastic achievement, which really underlines Outlander PHEV’s global appeal. Consumers in the UK have overwhelmingly made it their preferred choice for ultra-low emission motoring too. It is by far the nation’s leading plug-in vehicle.’
