Numbers add up for IGA

The Independent Garage Association (IGA) celebrated a bumper year in 2015, with continued growth and record membership retention.

A retention rate of more than 94% underscored its success last year, with achievements including receiving CTSI approval for the Trust My Garage consumer code scheme, developing a suite of three new technical training courses alongside the Diagnostic Specialist award, and reaching out to a record-breaking 1,600 people through 25 member events.

The IGA has also successfully lobbied and worked with government bodies on legislative issues such as access to manufacturer information and apprenticeship trailblazer, as well as continuing to lobby against the proposed change to a 4-1-1 MOT system for new cars.

IGA director Stuart James said, ‘The IGA achieved a great deal last year and member satisfaction is at an all-time high. Our focus for this year is to support our members with access to security technical information, drive the government-backed Trust My Garage scheme to consumers, and provide top quality training for MOT testers through the new RMI Academy of Automotive Skills.’
