Motorists continue online search

Motorists are increasingly turning to the web to speed up their search for reputable automotive services according to new findings.

The research from MyCarNeedsA.com, an automotive service provider price comparison website, shows that over the last 12 months the site has seen an 84% increase in servicing and MOT jobs, with a greater take up of maintenance work, such as brakes, timing belts and tyres.

MyCarNeedsA.com has also reported a 76% increase in unique visitors, year-on-year.

Scott Hamilton, managing director of MyCarNeedsA.com commented, ‘It is estimated that motorists spend a collective £21.1 billion a year on servicing and repair and the online comparison market is growing rapidly. There is a huge opportunity for MOT and servicing providers to boost their income by extending their reach online.’

He continued, ‘Recent research from gmbh, Trend Tracker’s partner in Germany, shows that 60-70% of the motorists they surveyed expect to use an online comparison site for car repairs in the near future.’

MyCarNeedsA.com now works with just over 4,000 garage and workshop partners nationwide.
