Morelli backs WorldSkills

The Morelli van is in pride of place at this year’s Worldskills UK Competition taking place at The Skills Show 2016.

Taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 17-19 November The Skills Show plays host to the Worldskills UK finals of the automotive body repair, automotive refinishing and automotive technology categories amongst many others.

Andrew Moring, marketing director of Morelli Group, lead competition supplier of the automotive refinishing competition, said, ‘This is the fifth year running we have sponsored the event with the aim of promoting apprenticeships and trying to attract youth into our industry. So far there have been thousands of young people at the event watching competitors’ paint and repair cars.’

The automotive refinishing competition is backed by 3M, Bodyshop Revolution, GTG, Glasurit, IRT Systems, Nova Verta, Paintbysimon.com, ProWorx, Sata and Static Solutions.

Six apprentices will compete in each category for a gold medal and a chance to represent the UK at the ‘Olympic Games’ for skills, the WorldSkills event in Russia in 2019.
