GEFCO selects ACIS

GEFCO, one of Europe’s largest integrated logistics solutions to the automotive sector, has awarded ACIS the contract to reduce the costs and improve the efficiency of its three UK de-fleeting centres.

ACIS secured the deal for the distribution of paint, consumables and added value solutions as part of a competitive tender process, which includes ASCRIBE, its web-based stock management technology designed to reduce costs, waste and increase efficiencies.

ASCRIBE, which is also a replenishment system, optimises efficiencies by an average of 18% per bodyshop and earlier this year ACIS recorded £5 million worth of stock ordered through the platform.

John Stocker, finished vehicles logistics director from GEFCO, said, ‘ACIS is a major name in the bodyshop market and has a great understanding of the complex requirements of the de-fleet sector. Through our partnership, we are confident that we will be able to reduce our costs while improving our value proposition to our customers.’

Graham O’Neill, CEO for ACIS, said, ‘This is a major deal for ACIS as it increases our foothold in the de-fleet sector where the need to control costs tightly whilst at the same time optimising speed and the repair process in order to get vehicles ready for re-sale is paramount.’
