Fix Edinburgh completes expansion

Fix Auto Edinburgh West has completed a major new development to double the size of its production facilities.

Little more than two years after joining Fix Auto UK, owners Stewart and Carol Roden have invested more than £300,000 to build the new 4, 500sqft state-of-the-art panel repair facility to operate alongside its existing workshop.

The couple expect that, when fully staffed, the new facilities will increase production by at least 30%. Two panel technicians and a paint technician have already been recruited, with efforts being made to secure a second dedicated painter.

‘While Carol and I have always planned to expand the bodyshop, joining Fix Auto UK has certainly helped make that decision a reality,’ said Stewart.

‘We bought some additional land adjoining our existing site last year which takes our total area here to close on five acres, three of which are perfect for future expansion plans should we decide to grow even further.’

Stewart, who has an unrivalled reputation in Scotland for repairing supercars like Ferraris and Aston Martins, added, ‘We have built the business on a philosophy of low volume but high-end repairs. That is still very much our goal, however joining Fix Auto UK has brought a whole new direction to our business and, undoubtedly, given us the confidence to action our plans to further develop and invest in the business.’

Welcoming the news, Ian Pugh of Fix Auto UK, said, ‘Once again we have another franchisee who has shown their confidence in the network and indeed the industry. This is another major investment that ensures we, as a network, continue to develop capacity to support our insurer partners.’
