Fix Auto expands coastline coverage

Fix Auto UK will increase its south coast presence with the development of a brand new state-of-the-art bodyshop in the seaside town of Bournemouth.

Terry and Chris Clemens, owners of Fix Auto Portsmouth, plan to invest more than £400,000 in developing the new express repair centre, which will operate as Fix Auto Fix & Go Bournemouth.

Situated in the heart of the Gore Road Industrial Estate, New Milton, work has already begun in converting the 6,500sqft unit into an express repair facility which is expected to be up and running by late August 2016.

The new site will be equipped with the latest equipment and facilities to allow the repair of light-to-medium damaged vehicles within a 48-hour timeframe and with the ability to repair up to 35 vehicles per week.

Commenting on the investment, Terry said, ‘The Fix & Go concept is extremely exciting and, to be frank, necessary in today’s market. Having witnessed how successful Steve Peart in South Wales has been with his express system we realised some time ago that, if we were to stay ahead of the game, we also need to invest in a similar system.’

He continued, ‘Like many repairers, we find that the larger, heavier repairs can slow up the process here at our main site. By opening an express repair facility we will triage our work accordingly and deliver class leading cycle times. Crucially, it will enable us to significantly increase our repair capacity.’

Ian Pugh, managing director of Fix Auto UK, said, ‘Once again we have a franchisee willing to look to the future by investing heavily in capacity expansion, and that commitment to the network has to be congratulated. When complete, Fix & Go Bournemouth will be our seventh Fix & Go operation, underpinning our commitment to developing the fast repair network that we launched just twelve months ago.’
