Facebook is favourite for dealers
Facebook is the favourite social media channel for dealers trading used cars, according to research by epyx.
According to its report, 52% of dealers opted for Facebook when asked to name their main social media outlet compared to 29% using LinkedIn and 19% using Twitter.
David Goodyear, commercial director at epyx, said, ‘Many of the respondents used a combination of all three channels but Facebook was the overwhelming favourite. It’s ability to build long-term relationships with large numbers of buyers and sellers is the key.
‘However, perhaps the surprise here is LinkedIn. Many see this primarily as a business contact tool but it is clearly being used for trading by a large number of the dealers that we surveyed.’
epyx’s research covered 97 dealers who use its 1link Disposal Network e-commerce platform to buy and sell used cars and vans.
