Double delight for BMW

BMW scooped two top gongs at the BusinessCar Awards 2016, with the AA, Fiat, Jaguar and Tesla also recognised.

BMW collected the Green Model of the Year for its i3 Model, while also winning the Manufacturer of the Year prize.

For the i3, this award completes a hat-trick of victories in the category, while BMW’s win in the Manufacturer group, voted for by fleet operators, makes it an incredible six in succession.

However, it’s not won this award by resting on its previous five wins. This year it has updated its 1-series with more efficient engines, facelifted its 3-series and introduced a new X1. Another edition is the seven-seater 2-series Gran Tourer, while satnav has been introduced as standard across the range.

Meanwhile, the AA was named Service Supplier of the Year, continuing an uncanny trend for collecting this award in Olympic year – its previous victories came in 2008 and 2012.

Apart from its vehicle recovery service, the AA offers a range of additional services for businesses and consumers, including windscreen repair, car battery replacement, wrong-fuel assistance, replacement keys, and car transportation.

It also provides insurance and financial products, plus risk management services through the company’s Drivetech brand.

Meanwhile, the Jaguar XE was named Business Car of the Year, while the Fiat 500 and Tesla Model S picked up the City Car and Luxury Awards respectively.
