Axalta supports Formula Student teams

Axalta is supporting five different teams competing in this year’s Formula Student, an internationally recognised motorsports competition for students from universities around the world.

The competition brings teams together to develop, design, and construct racing car prototypes, gaining valuable practical engineering and scientific experience.

Matthias Schönberg, vice president of Axalta and president for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, said, ‘The students participating in Formula Student learn the importance of team work and have the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. We support them in this important step in their educational journey and believe in investing in our future engineers.’

Axalta technicians help students paint various components of their vehicles from both classes of race cars – Formula Student Combustion and Formula Student Electric. The teams they’re aiding are:

OS.CAR Fachhochschule team from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, Austria
Green Lion Racing Team, from Wuppertal, Germany
ImpulsEracing Team from the University of Oviedo, Spain
Green Team from the University of Stuttgart, Germany
KA-Raceing Team from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany

Formula Student 2017 commences on 14 October 2016 with the ‘Learn to Win’ program.
